Mangifera indica is medicinally important plant species used to treat different disease. The present work is aimed to screen this medicinal plant for phytochemicals. Leaf of this plant were extracted in ethanol and distilled water solvents by Soxhlet extraction and screened for secondary metabolites. Leaves of Mangifera indica revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, terpenoids, saponin, glycoside, steroids, quinone, Anthro-quinone. The plant parts showed variation in secondary metabolites. Mangifera indica accumulates a greater number of secondary metabolites. The findings of the present study will be helpful to the Phyto chemists and pharmacologists for identification of new active principles.In the present study Chlorophyll A (Chloa) and B (Chlo b) content often Mangifera indica have been recorded. The qualitative difference of Chlorophyll A (Chlo a) and B (Chlo b) content between young and adult leaves were observed. A plant species was selected namely Mango (Mangifera indica) and were used for analysis of chlorophyll content. In all the cases the adult leaves showed higher chlorophyll content in comparison to young leaves. This has been proved that the age of leaves was an important factor for chlorophyll content.
