Construction Plans of Multi-Purpose Beam Test Facility at the PAL-XFEL for High-Energy Physics Experiments
Le résumé fourni par la source
High-energy physics experiments utilizing GeV scale particle beams have been constrained in Korea due to the limited availability of high-energy beams. Since 2017, fourth-generation light source facility, known as Pohang Accelerator Laboratory X-ray Free Electron Laser (PAL-XFEL) has been operational to provide high-brightness X-ray to users for cutting-edge scientific activities. Recently at the PAL-XFEL facility, as it has been proposed to construct the second hard X-ray beamline, utilizing GeV scale electron beam dumped after X-ray generation is now being discussed for the high-energy physics experiments. In this manuscript, we introduce the PAL-XFEL facility including beam parameters before and after the X-ray generation. In addition, we briefly introduce applications for high-energy physics experiments.
