Eutrichosomatidae
Résumé fourni par la source
Eutrichosomatidae comprise three genera that were most recently treated as the subfamily Eutrichosomatinae within Pteromalidae, but now as a separate family with a closer relationship to the planidial clade (Chrysolampidae, Eucharitidae, and Perilampidae). The most common species, Eutrichosoma mirabile, is a parasitoid of seed-feeding weevil larvae, including the genera Auleutes and Smicronyx (Curculionidae), which are found on sunflowers, acacia, and likely a greater variety of host plants. Peckianus laevis, the second most common species, has been reared from the weevil genus Apion (Brentidae). The natural history of the third genus, Collessina, is unknown. First-instar larvae are active planidia that feed on the developing instars of the weevil and likely complete development on the host after host pupation in the soil.
