The review of the role of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in developing youth and its possible rolein National Human Capital Development in India. NCC is a voluntary organization that has contributed todeveloping leadership, discipline, physical fitness, and resilience among school and college students. However,because of capacity constraints, enrollment into NCC is only about 30% of students. The review emphasizesthat NCC training helps in the overall development of the youth by tackling issues of academic pressure,emotional stress, and societal expectations that the youth of today are facing. Moreover, it highlights the needfor policy changes to increase the reach of NCC by including it as an elective subject in the school curriculumand making it a compulsory activity in educational institutions. We reveal the lasting effect of NCC training inmaking former cadets career-ready, resilient, and have a positive outlook in their professional lives, as formercadets share with us
