Lactate/Albumin Ratio as a Individual Predictor for Mortality in Patients Presenting with Sepsis

The combination of these two markers may offer a more accurate predictive tool. In this prospective cohort study, adult patients diagnosed with sepsis or septic shock based on the sepsis-3 criteria were included. The lactate/albumin ratio was recorded and analyzed for its relationship with mortality and hospitalisation outcomes. The results suggest that the L/A ratio is a reliable and cost-effective predictor of sepsis severity and prognosis, offering a novel approach to guide clinical decision-making in critically ill sepsis patients. By incorporating the L/A ratio into clinical practice, healthcare providers may improve early diagnosis, monitor response to treatment, and predict outcomes with greater precision, ultimately enhancing patient care in sepsis management.
