Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) based on the mirror array is regarded as an effective way to increase the stability of indoor visible light communication (VLC) links, which can combat the blocking problem of line of sight (LoS) link and improve the systems achievable communication rate. The achievable rate maximization problem that mirror array based IRS assisted indoor VLC systems is a highly non-convex optimization problem. We propose an improved Sine cosine Algorithm (SCA) to solve the achievable rate maximization problem in which the practical random position state information of the users and the access point (AP) is considered. We propose a two-step iterative strategy for the improved SCA. In the first stage of iteration, the control mechanism of random parameters is improved to adjust the algorithm ability in the search. In the second stage of iteration, a fast search and comparison mechanism is introduced, which can avoid the improved SCA to get a local optimal solution. The simulation shows that the improved SCA is superior to the traditional SCA in convergence and efficiency.
