Harnessing Data, Collaborations, and Connectedness to Foster One Health

In this chapter we discuss the need for a combination of data, collaborations, and connectedness to foster One Health successes in public health research. We define collaborations as bringing together the tools, disciplines, and study leaders needed to solve health challenges. We define connectedness as the networked linkages between researchers and those we aim to serve wherein ground-truthing plays a central role. Each section connects to another, highlighting the importance of tying together data needs, collaborations, and connectedness. Each includes a case study that illustrates why all three are needed in One Health efforts to be successful.
