Résumé fourni par la source

The study aims to investigate the impact of Cadmium (Cd) exposure on the liver of young Wistar rats and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments with phillyrea anguistifolia aqueous extract in mitigating the damage caused by this chemical toxin. The plant extract was extracted via infusion and maceraion, resulting in yields of 10.9% for the infusion and 11 % for the maceration. Acute toxicity from Cadmium was induced by administering an oral dose of 20 mg/kg over 35 days. In rats exposed to Cd, there were significant increases in hepatic markers such as AST and ALT and ALP in the blood, alongside a inecrease in Glucose levels and urea and creatinin. Additionally, the liver showed signs of tissue damage. Treatment with Phillyra angusistifolia significantly alleviated the biochemical alterations, as well as the histological and cellular damage observed in the liver tissue.
