Le résumé fourni par la source
This contribution introduces an airflow zonal model (AZM) for block-scale urban environments, designed to assess key climatic variables involved in heat stress in wind-driven airflow configurations. The model relies on prior steady CFD calculations using the RANS realizable k−ϵ turbulence model and linear interpolation to predict average mass flow rates, wind speeds, convective heat transfer coefficients, and pressure coefficients. Dynamic energy and mass balances are solved in each airzone. The validity of the CFD setting is established by comparing simulation results with experimental data on an isolated cube. A case study of a building block illustrates the AZM’s ability to replicate airflow patterns consistent with CFD, emphasizing the impact of urban geometry and thermal properties on the spatial and temporal distribution of air temperature, wind velocity, and mean radiant temperature. The AZM offers a computationally efficient alternative to CFD, enabling simulations over seasonal timescales.
