Le résumé fourni par la source

This article compares the performance of four different types of drying systems viz. solar cabinet dryer (SCD), solar greenhouse dryer (GHD), fluidized bed dryer (FBD) and conventional hot air dryer (HAD) with respect to their drying performance and impact on environment. The FBD exhibited superior heat & mass transfer and shorter drying time. Drying in HAD, GHD, SCD and FBD took 330, 330, 240 and 210 min respectively to reduce the moisture content from 6.69 kg/kg to around 0.2 kg/kg. The average drying rate was highest for FBD at 1.8737 followed by SCD at 1.6288, GHD at 1.1805 and HAD at 1.1748 (kg/kg-hr). The GHD had drying rates similar to HAD even though it was solely dependent on the solar energy. The total CO2 mitigation of the GHD and SCD were respectively 9.1 and 76.56 tons with energy payback periods of 1.5 and 2.31 years and life cycle conversion efficiencies of 29.18% and 52.8%. While the HAD and FBD emitted 28.28 and 44.07 tons of CO2 in 10 years. Attempt has also been made to discuss on the issues related to industrial application solar-based dryers and methods have been suggested that could increase renewable energy utilization in industrial dryers.
