Le résumé fourni par la source
The Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA), Division 27 of the American Psychological Association, is an international and interdisciplinary organization that supports the development of theory, research, and social action to promote empowerment, health, and well-being. Members give special attention to multiple levels of analysis, including the individual, group, organizational, community, cultural, and societal levels. Members focus on an array of pressing social issues within national and global contexts, such as violence, poverty, and racism, and have developed, using a continuum of frameworks from prevention to intervention to structural change, effective approaches to address seemingly intractable issues in partnership with local communities. These approaches to change involve diverse strategies, including, for example, advocacy, citizen participation, collaboration, community organizing, economic development, preventive education, self-help/mutual help, sociopolitical development, social movements, and policy change. Each typically shares the goal of challenging and altering underlying power structures in the pursuit of social justice and community and individual well-being.
