Social media and decision-making in tourism
Le résumé fourni par la source
Decision-making has never been more easily and yet complex than it is, today. As the globe turns digital by the minute, consumers are submerged by infinite variables that can assist or aggravate their decision-making process. With an enormous amount of data available for consumers, it has become even more imperative to assist them in making better decisions, particularly regarding tourism-related experiences. Tourism as an experience remains distinctive from ordinary product consumption. Thus, with tourism, the consumer cultivates intangible aspects of an experience that may be more influential (long-term) than the mere consumption of a convenient product. Therefore, the ability to effectively guide the consumer in making better decisions is crucial. For this reason, the chapter aims to examine how the consumer decision-making process is influenced by social media use in a digital world.
