The contribution tackles the correspondence between Bembo’s secreta-ries, Antonio Anselmi and Giorgio Palleano, and Count Agostino Landi. This is held by the State Archive of Parma and is so far unpublished. These letters are of interest especially for the information they provide about the literary works of Bembo himself and some contemporary au-thors, such as Pietro Aretino, Lodovico Dolce and Vittoria Colonna. In addition to their literary and historical significance, the correspondence is also interesting inasmuch as it transmits the sonnet addressed by Bembo to Aretino: one of the letters is actually tantamount to a new testimony of the poem, and is transcribed in the Appendix of the article.
