Impact of Nanoparticle-Based Bioremediation on the Fauna and Flora of Different Matrices
Le résumé fourni par la source
A promising technique for lowering environmental contamination in a variety of settings, including soil, water, and air, is nanoparticle-based bioremediation. The various effects of nanoparticle-based bioremediation on the plants and animals in these locations are briefly reviewed in this chapter. The capacity to target particular contaminants, lower pollution dispersion, reduce potential ecotoxicity, and enhance effectiveness due to a larger surface area for pollutant interaction are some of the benefits of nanoparticle-based bioremediation. These elements help to remove contaminants from the environment effectively while protecting sensitive species and causing the least amount of damage to ecosystems. When organisms are exposed to nanoparticles, their metabolic processes may be disturbed, which may lead to bioaccumulation and other long-term, subtle impacts. Caution is essential due to the disruption of ecosystems caused by microorganism dynamics changes and the complex, poorly known interactions between nanoparticles, bioremediation organisms, and the environment. A comprehensive approach is required to overcome these difficulties. This method includes continuous ecosystem monitoring before, during, and following treatment, as well as a comprehensive research, risk assessment, and regulatory oversight.
