Type B patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), also called a window ductus (WD), is a rare variant of a PDA that was first reported in 1953.1,2 Herein, we present the classifications of both PDA and aortopulmonary (AP) window, along with the key differences related to the classification and management, and review the case of a 2.9-kg neonate with a suspected atypical AP window on echocardiography. We follow this with a review of the literature to present multiple cases and the surgical challenges faced, including the outcome of these patients.
