Application in Water Treatment

Rapid economic and social development has led to environmental pollution, especially water pollution. Water, the source of life, is a scarce resource, making wastewater treatment an effective method for addressing water scarcity. The development of efficient and environmentally sustainable wastewater treatment technologies is essential for a sustainable society. By converting solid waste into solid waste-based materials for water treatment, it is possible to achieve synergies in terms of pollution reduction and carbon reduction. This paper presents a systematic review of different technologies for the application of solid waste-based materials in water treatment, including adsorption, advanced oxidation and photocatalysis. Current research progress and future challenges are summarized to provide readers with an in-depth understanding of solid waste-based materials for water treatment.
