Kinematic and neuromuscular characterization of cognitive involvement in gait control in healthy young adults
Résumé fourni par la source
The kinematic and neuromuscular signatures of cognitive involvement in gait control have rarely been studied jointly. We sought to address this issue using gait perturbation and dual-task paradigms. The protocol consisted of a fixed-speed treadmill walk to which visual and cognitive constraints were applied separately and together. The results revealed that young adults optimally regulated their gait to cope with these constraints by maintaining relatively stable muscle synergies and flexibly allocating attentional resources.
