Liquid Manures for Crop Nutrition Under Organic Cultivation
Le résumé fourni par la source
Liquid organic manure is the latest addition to successful crop production under the organic farming system. It is a low-cost production method that assists farmers in achieving higher yields and realizing higher returns. It is primarily aimed at enriching the soil microflora. Beneficial microbes found in liquid organic manures aid in phosphate solubilization, nitrogen fixation, and other processes. Preparation of liquid organic manures from the wastes produced on the farm and subsequent use in the form of a foliar spray, through irrigation or direct soil application could suffice the crop demand as well as farmers’ needs. Some of the organic nutrient sources are biodigester liquid, cattle urine, panchagavya, jeevamrutha, beejamrutha, dung, etc., which can supply the 278 nutrients matching with crop nutrient demand besides pest and disease control to some extent. As global agriculture shifts its focus to soil conservation and environmental preservation in the future, organic liquid manure will be a suitable substitute for chemical fertilizers in a gradual fashion that meets the needs of modern agriculture while ensuring environmental sustainability.
