SAHİPSİZ EVCİL HAYVANLARIN HALK SAĞLIĞI ÜZERİNE ETKİLERİ
Le résumé fourni par la source
"Pet animals refer to animals that have been domesticated and trained by humans. Stray animals are domestic animals without shelter or found outside the bounds of their owner’s or guardian’s property, not under any control or supervision. The impact of stray animals on public health is linked to the One Health concept. It is estimated that there are over 700 million stray animals worldwide. Considering that 61% of human diseases are of animal origin, the issue of stray animals gains importance. The impact of stray animals on public health can be examined under four headings: infectious diseases, psychosocial effects, traffic accidents, and fatal dog bites. The methods currently implemented in our country, such as the trap-neuter-release method and services provided by municipalities, are insufficient to mitigate the negative impact of stray animals on public health. Further studies on this subject are necessary."
