Microwave-Processed Casting
Le résumé fourni par la source
Microwave casting is an inventive and environmentally friendly green manufacturing technology that uses microwave radiation to heat, melt, and solidify materials during the casting process. The chapter examines the fundamentals of microwave processing, experimentation, its environmental effect, pros and cons, and its applications. It also sheds light on recent developments, difficulties, and potential future directions in microwave-processed casting, paving the path for a more ecologically friendly and sustainable production strategy. Environmental contamination, excessive material waste, long processing time, and energy-intensive procedures are all common features of traditional casting techniques. All these problems are overcome by microwave processing without difficulty using microwave hybrid heating. Volumetric and bidirectional heating (outside to inside and inside to outside) are the significant features of microwave hybrid heating, which are very helpful during microwave casting.
