Introduction Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching materials that are released for use, distribution and, in some cases, editing by the authors through open licensing. The creation and testing of didactically high-quality teaching materials requires time and human resources, which are limited in clinical-medical teaching. In the "OER for ENT" project, a cross-location cooperation model for the resource-optimized creation and evaluation of teaching materials is to be tested. Methods A blended learning module on the topic of dizziness was developed in a cross-location collaboration between doctors and students. This contains digital resources for guideline-compliant content preparation for bedside teaching, handouts for a face-to-face part and digital content for follow-up and skills assessment. Testing in curricular teaching and evaluation in the context of bedside teaching will take place in the current academic year 2023/24 at the University Medical Center Greifswald. The evaluation includes an Eagle survey on subjective competence assessment before and after the course. Results Effective distribution of project components considered available resources at different locations. The quality of the content was ensured by a collaborative medical review process. The involvement of student assistants in the creation of digital teaching and learning materials leads to a conservation of resources. We expect an increase in the subjective competence assessment of students. Discussion Blended learning teaching and learning formats prove to be ideal for cross-location collaboration in teaching. The decision to publish as OER not only enables broad use, but also versioning by third parties. Publication History Article published online: 19 April 2024 © 2024. Thieme. All rights reserved.
