Résultats des comptages par transect des terriers de la colonie de Procellariidae de Pindaï (Nouvelle-Calédonie)

Twelve census operations of the petrel colony (mostly, wedge-tailed shearwater Ardenna pacifica) on Pindaï peninsula on the western coast of New Caledonia’s Grande Terre (Coral Sea) were carried out between 2002 and 2016 by SCO naturalists. During each census operation, petrel and shearwater burrows were counted in 4 m wide x 20 m long transect sections. Burrow density in a section varied from 0 to 78. The raw results from these censuses are presented here, to support an estimation of the size of the population linked to this colony. The latter work is being published by the two authors in the Bulletin de la Société Zoologique de France.
