Fovea-sparing premacular hemorrhage
Résumé fourni par la source
A 48-year-old female patient presented with blurred vision in her right eye. Best-corrected visual acuity was 20/20. She was diagnosed as retinal vasculitis with proliferative sequelae and underwent pan-retinal photocoagulation. Fundus imaging performed elsewhere 2 weeks ago revealed a ring-shaped pre-retinal hemorrhage [Fig. 1a]. Dilated fundus examination revealed resolving ring-shaped pre-retinal hemorrhage [Fig. 1b]. On fundus fluorescein angiography, retinal neovascularization was observed beneath the hemorrhage in the temporal macula [Fig. 1c and d]. Swept-source optical coherence tomography [Fig. 2] revealed persistent attachment of the posterior vitreous to foveola.[1]Figure 1: Fovea sparing premacular haemorrage 1(a,b). Fluorescein angiography showing neovascularisation beneath the haemorrage 1 (c,d)Figure 2: SDOCT showing attachment of vitreous to foveaSummary The attachment of the posterior vitreous to foveola is likely the reason for fovea sparing in this case.
