Analysis of International Vehicle Carbon Tax Policy Under the Carbon Reduction Targets

The implementation of vehicle carbon tax policies has gained widespread recognition as an effective means of reducing vehicle carbon emissions worldwide. This paper presents an international empirical analysis of the current status of vehicle carbon tax policy implementation, with a focus on the context of global low-carbon development. Using a comparative approach, the study examines the carbon tax policies of three typical nations and evaluates their respective impacts. Our findings show that vehicle carbon tax policy can effectively reduce vehicle carbon dioxide emissions, but its effectiveness may be hindered by economic, social, and public awareness barriers that vary across countries. We argue that establishing a fair carbon tax system is a necessary precondition for implementing policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions. Furthermore, promoting public awareness of low-carbon practices and enhancing understanding of the tax system can help to ensure the successful implementation of a carbon tax policy.
