What Do Neuropsychologists Do and Where Are They Found?

Neuropsychologists can work in a wide variety of settings, and many have more than one role. The common denominator is that all neuropsychologists are trained to administer, score, understand, interpret, and share the results of standardized tests that evaluate the different cognitive problems seen in the kinds of patients with whom they work. Many do clinical work and some do research, teach, and work in policy and administration as well. This chapter provides an overview of many of the various settings where neuropsychologists can work and gives examples from real neuropsychologists about what their days are like in each kind of setting.
