Abstract Digital technologies are entangled in Australian Indigenous language work in a variety of ways, and may be differently mobilized according to how they support and enable some of the social functions of language. This chapter focusses on three social functions: language documentation practices, language in pedagogical practices, and language in practices of identity politics. It presents a snapshot of current tools and resources, with a focus on the contexts and purposes of their development and implementation, and a discussion of some of the challenges and opportunities inherent in the use of technology for this work.
