Abstract: This paper aims to identify and empirically validate various factors for adoption of e-pharmacy for buying medicines by consumers. Based on constructs from well-established theoretical models, the TAM (technology acceptance model) and UTAUT2 (extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology), a conceptual framework was proposed for the study. The model was validated with a sample size of 307 respondents using partial least squares method to establish and validate relationships among various identified constructs. Results show that perceived ease of use, facility of home-delivery, 24*7 ordering convenience, discount offered as well as age have a positive correlation with adoption of e-pharmacy. The results depict that gender and educational background have no correlation toward adoption of e-pharmacies for purchasing medicines in India. This research comes along with a geographic limitation of the sample size. The research was conducted in Ahmedabad. At an academic level, this research provides interesting insights for exploring adoption of consumers towards e-pharmacy. At a managerial level, this empirically supported study provides insights into the relationship among various constructs and consumers’ motivation toward adoption of e-pharmacy. Keywords: E-pharmacy, Adoption Intention, Healthcare, Usage Intention
