Online Work Platform for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Platform Development Study (Preprint)

BACKGROUND Cochrane launched RevMan Web to move the work of systematic review and meta-analysis online. Openness, sharing and collaboration are the characteristics of online work, which can not only improve the work efficiency, but also help improve the quality of systematic reviews. OBJECTIVE Some long-standing problems in the field of systematic reviews of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) can also be solved through this online working mode. METHODS We publicly released a website called TCMeta(Traditional Chinese Medicine Meta-analysis) that allows users to register and log in, submit research proposals, obtain relevant literature, and complete meta-analysis of TCM online. RESULTS TCMeta provides two main working modes: manual and query. The query mode can help quickly find the same type of TCM clinical research, and the online analysis function can improve the working efficiency of researchers. CONCLUSIONS TCMeta records and presents the research process of a systematic review of TCM on the Internet, facilitating error detection and correction by researchers. The research process and data are fixed, open, shareable, and conducive to subsequent supplementation and verification.
