Le résumé fourni par la source

Increasing toxicity due to organic and inorganic chemicals, heavy metals, and other factors in the environment is negatively affecting humans and the ecosystem. Among various heavy metal ion contaminants, arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury, and chromium are considered very harmful to living organisms. This creates a demand for new sensing techniques for the selective determination of toxic heavy metal ions. A variety of effective detection techniques have been developed and investigated. Zinc-based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have gained worldwide attention for the same. They show outstanding sensing performance and are the best candidate for the detection of various organic and inorganic chemical species such as heavy metal ions, biomolecules, and gas molecules. The use of MOFs for heavy metal sensing has become an interesting and promising field for research and development. Because of their three-dimensional organic–inorganic complexes, large surface areas, highly porous structures, and high-density adsorptive sites, MOFs have attracted considerable attention among researchers developing sensors for the detection of heavy metal ions. This chapter is a systematic review of the synthesis and application of Zn-based MOFs for effective heavy metal detection in various mediums.
