in one of the phylogenetic lines.Although the relative positions of the Tp53 and Tk loci on chromosome 10 of Rattus have not been mapped, conservation of synteny with Peromyscus is indi cated.Our findings represent a newly detected linkage group for the deer mouse.This is also the first chromosomal assignment of linked unique sequence genes in Peromyscus.
