Le résumé fourni par la source
Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is a ‘comprehensive intervention based on a thorough patient assessment followed by patient-tailored therapies that include exercise training, education, and behavior change, designed to improve the physical and psychological condition of people with chronic respiratory disease and to promote the long-term adherence to health-enhancing behaviors’. Patients must participate in pulmonary rehabilitation both before and after lung transplantation. There are no specific guidelines for the organization or structure of a pulmonary rehabilitation program. Patients with symptomatic chronic lung disease are likely to benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation. Education is an integral component of pulmonary rehabilitation. Patients benefit from an understanding of their disease and learn how to recognise symptoms of an exacerbation. Pulmonary rehabilitation is an attempt to generate a lifestyle change for patients by using education and exercise specifically designed to maximally benefit those with chronic respiratory disease.
