AbstractMaxillofacial trauma represent all of the lesions affecting the face and the jaws. It can belesions of soft or bone parts. The specific objective of this work is to determine theepidemiological characteristics of trauma to the face. It was a prospective study, carried out inthe stomatology and maxillofacial surgery department of Nianankoro FOMBA Hospital inSegou over a period of three years of study (October 2016 - October 2019). It focused on allcases of maxillofacial trauma admitted to the service for their treatment. During our study wecarried out 582 consultations and recorded 225 cases of maxillofacial trauma, or 38.66%, ofwhich 174 men and 51 women, or a sex ratio of 3.41: 1 in favor of men.Maxillo-facial trauma in Segou are generally isolated lesions and are very common in rurallocalities.
