Objective: To study the level of 25 (OH) D in children with bronchial asthma depending on the genotypes of the VDR gene polymorphisms and on the presence of vitamin D supplementation. Materials and methods: To assess vitamin d availability in children and adolescents of three regions of Russia with bronchial asthma (BA) in summer and winter. 300 patients (208 boys and 92 girls) with BA aged 10.80 (7.51 -15.13) years. Performed PCR, studied TaqI 1206T> C (A> G), ApaI (c.1175-49G> T) polymorphism, FokI (c.152T> C), by Pct I (BsmI) (c.1174 + 283G> A) polymorphisms of the VDR gene. Results: It was shown that carriers of the AA genotype polymorphism (c.1174 + 283G> A) Pct I (BsmI) of the VDR gene, who did not take vitamin D, had the highest 25 (OH) D values in summer (p = 0.046) and winter (p = 0.014) season. Among all BA patients (p = 0.016) in summer, the most significant increase in vitamin D levels during supplimentation was observed in patients with the GA genotype of the Pct I (BsmI) VDR polymorphism (c.1174 + 283G> A). In the winter season, carriers of TT genotypes ( p = 0.020) and TS (p = 0.004) of the TaqI polymorphism c.1206T> C (A> G), CC (p = 0.023) of the FokI polymorphism (c.152T> C), GA (p = 0.006) and GG ( p = 0.011) polymorphism Pct I (BsmI) VDR (c.1174 + 283G> A), genotypes GA (p = 0.023) and GG (p = 0.032) polymorphism Pct I (BsmI) VDR (c.1174 + 283G> A ) of the VDR gene polymorphism had higher values of 25 (OH) D when supplemented with vitamin D. Conclusions: Protective genotypes for the development of vitamin D deficiency have been established.
