Telemonitoring in peritoneal dialysis

Telehealth is key innovation in modern medicine. One area of telehealth is telemedicine, which enables the diagnosis and treatment of patients at a distance using information technology. Among the various types of telemedicine activities is telemonitoring, also referred to as remote patient monitoring. This article reviews the literature presenting the use of synchronous and asynchronous remote monitoring systems for managing peritoneal dialysis patients.
