Memory, creativity and image emerge as three key cultural factors in the history and evolution of civilizations. Memory, an extraordinary storehouse of experiences and knowledge, is an essential instrument in the processes of creation and problem solving. Memory, often exclusively linked to the past, acts in the present and its potential value of projection makes it basic in the future. In memory, the image plays a relevant role, both in its sensory and mental dimensions. The individual construct and improves concepts (mental images) that push him to behave in a certain way, and imagines, creating fantastic images, frequently from his memories. The main objective of this article is to study the connections between memory, creativity and image in order to reach a deeper knowledge that allows us to reflect on such interactions and their opportunities. To this end, a coherent and unitary epistemological methodology with a phenomenological approach is proposed to explain the complexity of the interrelations and the essence of the three factors, studied as vital phenomena. Finally, a semantic network of all the interactions found is designed, opening ways for future research.
