New limits on lepton flavor violation obtained using the ZEUS detector

This thesis presents new limits on lepton flavor violation in deeply inelastic positron-proton scattering obtained with the ZEUS detector at the HERA e + p and e − p collider of the Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (DESK) in Hamburg, Germany. For the effective Lagrangian contact interaction terms involving two leptons and two quarks, new limits on the mass scale, Λ, range between 3 and 6 TeV. New limits are also set on the weak isospin leptoquark model for couplings involving s, c, and b quarks.
