Bioprospecting
Résumé fourni par la source
Bioprospecting consists of mainly four phases: sample collection; culturing of organisms, specific compounds isolation as well as characterization; screening for specified uses; development of products, and their commercialization, including trials, patenting, marketing, and sales. This chapter aims to discuss the plant-associated microbial communities, beneficial effects from the microorganisms which are associated with the plants and role of microbial processing (signals) for facilitation the plant growth. Plants are being evolved with a plethora of microorganisms which are playing a very important role in the growth and health of the plant. Macro as well as micronutrients can be supplied by microorganisms associated with plants. An important example of plant growth–promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) is a symbiotic association between the host plant and rhizobia. Plant development improved by PGPR is measured by seedling rise, energy, biomass, multiplication of framework of roots, and yield among different species of plants.
