After the completion of the Ilısu Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) Project, the rescue project was established to document, conserve and recover the cultural heritage in Hasankeyf, which will be largely inundated.Er Rızk Mosque Minaret within the scope of this project was completely moved to its new location in the archaeological site in the new Hasankeyf settlement and was rescued from the threat of flooding.The stone and joint / rubble filling mortar samples obtained from different levels within the scope of Er Rızk Mosque Minaret transportation studies were examined in archaeometric scope by using various analytical methods.The stone and mortar samples of Er Rızk Mosque Minaret were first evaluated visually, photographed, documented and coded.Physical properties of stone and mortar samples were determined by basic physical tests (unit volume weight, water holding capacity and porosity), and the amount of water soluble salt and pH values were determined by conductometric analysis.The aggregate / binder and particle size distribution (granulometric) analysis was applied to the mortar samples.Petrographic properties and thin sections of samples were prepared by optical microscope analysis and chemical properties were determined by PED-XRF analysis.
