The purpose of this paper is to articulate the mediation of information with gender studies, specially LGBTphobia, with focus on the information process at the Reference Center of LBGT Rights and Fight against Homophobia of Paraíba, known as LGBT Space, by describing and disseminating data on the care of transvestites and transexuals. The research, characterized as descriptive and quantitative, utilizes documental sources, that is, the records of the care of transvestites and transexuals attended at LBGT Space between 2011 and 2014. It uses descriptive statistics as a data analysis instrument. It was possible to observe aspects of LBGTphobia that extends beyond regional context and whose confrontation is connected, among other aspects, to the dissemination of precise and reliable information. It is understood that access to and use of quantitative data has the potencial of resignify subaltern relations involving transvestites and transexuals. In this process, it’s considered that the information professional must be evoked as a mediator of information since they reflect on how the dissemination, organization and access to information can contribute to the respect of human rights.
