Determination of dry weight is one of the daily goals to achieve in hemodialysis. Strict control of volume and weight has been performed correctly to normalize blood pressure and increase the survival of chronic hemodialysis patients. In most dialysis centers, weight is clinically established with many limitations and errors. Bioimpedance devices have been extensively tested to aid clinical decision making of dry weight estimation in these patients. They provide an estimate of total body water and an analysis of body composition at the bedside using mathematical modeling.
