FARCOS (Femtoscope ARray for Correlation and Spectroscopy) is a novel telescope array able to measure the particle's momentum with high precision thanks to its angular as well as energy resolution. In addition FARCOS intends to perform correlation measurements of Light Charged Particles and of Light Charged Particles and Intermediate Mass Fragments. The sensitive area of each telescope is 6.4 × 6.4 cm2. Three detection stages compose the telescope. DC-coupled Double-Sided Silicon Strip Detectors (DSSSDs), 300 μm thick and 1500 μm thick, featuring 32 × 32 orthogonal strips form the first two ΔE stages. Four truncated pyramids of CsI(Tl) crystals with an absorption length of 6 cm acts as calorimeters. The final system - composed by 20 telescopes - will have a total of 2640 readout channels. We designed and qualified a dedicated versatile multichannel CMOS front-end with selectable full-scale energy range from 90 MeV up to 2.2 GeV able to readout all detector's signals with an energy resolution of the order of 10 keV FWHM and a power dissipation of about 10 mW/channel (ASIC only). A dedicated frontend board houses the ASICs and converts from single ended to differential signals to preserve signal integrity over the several-meter long connections towards the digitizing stage. The first batch of 60 frontend motherboard has been mounted and qualified with impressive results in terms of yield.
