Le résumé fourni par la source
Birthweight of twins are 0.5 to 1 Z-score lower than singletons, but the GA at which they stop growing is unknown. Some are detected early in the second trimester, but others fall down in the late third trimester. This is important for any screening protocol in a twin clinic. The objective was to analyse longitudinal data from twins in our institution. Longitudinal study of US weight estimation in twins. Only normal Di and monochorionic –biamniotic twins were included. Only scans with alive twins at ultrasound were included. GA study groups were defined as 21–23, 24–26, 27–29, 30–32, 33–35 and 36–38. Only one scan in each group was considered. Z-score for each twin was calculated, and this was compared to the national reference chart (singletons). Estimated fetal weight Z-score was compared to normal, at different GA groups, with single sample T-test. 2225 scans from 382 twins were considered. 265 were dichorionic and 117 were monochorionic. Fetal weight was not lower than singletons under 35w and there was a significant reduction thereafter (z score −0.3, 95%CI −0.41 to −0.18). Monochorionic twins have slower growth than dichorionic, z-score −0.11 at all gestational ages (T test, p < 0.001). Figure 1 represents p10, mean and p90 of all twins, lines are polynomial regression formulas.
