Background: In the 21st century, more and more “high-risk” patients survive after Coronary artery disease events. Long term incidence of heart failure in stable Coronary Artery Disease (sCAD) has not been largely studied. Our aim was to investigate clinical predictors of long term hospital admission for heart failure in a “real-world” sCAD population. Methods: CICCOR registry (“Chronic ischaemic heart disease in Cordoba”) is a prospective, monocentric, cohort study. From February 1st, 2000 to January 31st, 2004, all consecutive patients with sCAD who attended two outpatient cardiology clinics in the South of Spain were included in the study and prospectively followed. We analyzed baseline predictors for heart failure admission during follow-up by multivariate analysis. Results: 1268 patients with sCAD were recruited (median age 68±10 years, 73% male). After up to 17 years of follow-up (median 10±5;, IQR 4–15 years), 203 patients were hospitalized due to heart failure. Mean baseline predictors are shown in the table
