In order to develop the Ecological Monitoring Plan (ECM) of San Juan de la Peña and Monte Oroel Protected Landscape (SJPP), during 2016 we undertook an inventory and analysis of the available information and a proposal of an ECM for this Protected Area.\nWe inventoried 30 works carried out by SJPP. Most of them dealt with vascular flora and vertebrates, as PhD thesis undertaken during the 70s of last century were centered in this topic, while the rest of the sub-jects were hardly covered. An inventory of most of the fauna groups is clearly needed.\nFollowing the inventory, the main processes, factors and elements which characterize SJPP as well as their main threats were identified. The main key process is the evolution of forests towards more matures stages: the shrub encroachment which affects several European Community habitats of interest, and the degradation of some pastures due to artificial irrigation.\nAfter analyzing the available information, we propose some measures to develop the ECM for the next five years, grouped in monitoring pro-grams. These consist in the elaboration of inventories (to complete the lack of information), protocols (to gather data), and the integration of all the information in the documentary base of the Regional Government of Aragon.
