ABSTRACT: Background: Non-communicable chronic diseases (DCNT) have gradually replaced malnutrition and infectious diseases, especially cardiac, cerebrovascular, diabetes mellitus, systemic arterial hypertension and cancer. NCDs were the main cause of premature death worldwide in the year 2012. Objectives: To evaluate patients with CNCD that performed nutritional care at the URI-FW from 2012 to 2014. Methods: Data collection was performed using clinical records from the URI-FW Nutrition Outpatient Clinic, with patients presenting CNCDs between 2012 and 2014. Anthropometric data and food consumption of these patients were evaluated. Results: A total of 204 patients were evaluated, most of them young adults. The highest demand was for the female gender and regarding the return to care, 70% of the patients with CNCD did not return. It was verified that the majority of the participants were overweight and presented high consumption of sodium, fats and carbohydrates. However, intake of vitamin D, calcium and fiber was lower than recommended. Conclusion: Eating habits are modified and adopting a new unhealthy lifestyle has caused a high rate of NCD in the population. The importance of food re-education for weight reduction and modification of inadequate eating habits is highlighted. Keywords: Chronic Diseases. Eating Habits. Overweight. Nutritional Transition.
