This short work uses the long format belletristic essay (3000 words) to comment on contemporary issues of copyright and authorial identity.  The belletristic review form -- as typified by essay length reviews in the LRB and NYRB -- uses a wide range of argumentative and rhetotical techniques in order to explore both the book at hand and the issue at hand.  In this case the essay/review uses historical vignette, short sections of expositional scholarship; a mix of cultural references from Jung to pop culture to explore both the book and the wider issue.
