800x600 This research had as main goal the embryonic development stages description in Gambusia puncticulata and to make an embryonic developmental mean stage and mean weight analysis for each rank of carcass weight of mother female. The fish were caught monthly from July 2006 to June 2007 throughout of Almendares River. An increase of embryos mean stages values ( F 4,600 =14.79, p and mean weight values (F 4,395 =7.09, p of size of female was observed. In this research has been described for the first time 7 embryonic developmental stages for the studied species. Applied macroscopic classification for embryos showed great strength due to large number of analysed samples. The arguments used to define the stages are accurate and allow distinguishing this easily, quickly and with high reliability. It should be applied to other species of the Gambusia genus.
