In this article, we propose a rapid method of determining the pressure of the inert gas in the high pressure sodium lamps. In contrast to known methods, we propose expanding the range of measured pressures, improve the accuracy and reproducibility of the determination of the pressure at low frequencies, which is achieved in the excitation cross section of the discharge tube support time-series, with the result that the volume of the discharge mechanism prevails over the surface, having schimsya at high pressures. Due to the decrease of the discharge driving voltage increases its stability both at low and at high pressures of the inert gas. The method allows to simplify the measurement circuit, the measurement procedure and make it available for rapid pressure control at the factory. Deviation pressure does not exceed 3%.
