STATUS OF THE BERLinPro ENERGY RECOVERY LINAC PROJECT

In October 2010 HZB received funding to design and build the Berlin Energy Recovery Linac Project BERLinPro. The goal of this compact ERL is to develop the accelerator physics and technology required to gener-ate and accelerate a 100-mA, 1-mm mrad emittance beam. The BERLinPro know-how can then be transferred to var-ious ERL-based applications. Presently, BERLinPro is in the design phase, the optics has been settled and first beam has been achieved with an SRF photoinjector — an impor-tant first step towards realizing a high-current CW injector.
