Studies on the Adsorption-crystallization Process of Amphotericin B

Multi-crystallization has been widely applied in the purification of amphotericin B.This process is very complicated with low yield and high cost.In this paper,a new purification process of amphotericin B,adsorption-crystallization process,was developed with raw material precrystallized twice before hand.The total concentration of the impurities in amphotericin B produced by this process can be decreased to below 5.5%,with any individual impurity no more than 3.5% and yield above 70%.Compared with the present purification method,this new process has the following advantages: less steps,shorter production cycle,more convenient operating temperature and higher yield.
